FAQ
Emergency Call-Out
questions, answered.
The questions we hear most from emergency call-out customers across East London and Essex, with straight answers from a Gas Safe engineer, not a marketing brochure.
Can't see your question? Call us on 0208 050 1788.
Do you really answer the phone 24/7?+
Yes, emergency calls go to a real engineer, not a voicemail or call centre. If we're already on a job, the call rolls to the next available engineer immediately.
How fast can you get to me in an emergency?+
Typical arrival in our core service area is 45–90 minutes depending on traffic and the time of night. We'll give you a realistic ETA on the call.
What's the call-out fee for an emergency?+
From £90 + VAT during working hours and from £130 + VAT out of hours. Leaks are made safe within the call-out price. For breakdowns needing parts we quote the repair in writing before any work starts.
What should I do if I smell gas?+
Open windows, turn the gas off at the meter, leave the property, call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999, then call us. Do not switch any electrics on or off.
My CO alarm is going off, what now?+
Evacuate immediately, leave doors and windows open, do not re-enter until cleared, and seek urgent medical attention for anyone with symptoms (headache, dizziness, nausea). Call us once you're safe outside.
Can you handle landlord emergencies on behalf of tenants?+
Yes, we work directly with letting agents and landlords across the region for tenant emergency response. Authorised payment terms available.
What areas do you cover for 24/7 emergency call-out?+
Waltham Abbey, Chingford, Loughton, Cheshunt, Enfield, Harlow, Epping and the wider East London/Essex region.
Will you charge me if you can't fix it on the first visit?+
The call-out fee covers making safe and diagnosis. If we need parts, we return on standard rates, no second call-out fee.
