Service Overview

What it is.
Who it's for.
Why it matters.

What it is

Supply and installation of domestic air conditioning systems, typically split-system or multi-split inverter units from manufacturers like Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic and LG. Cooling, heating (modern AC is also an efficient heat pump in winter), and dehumidification.

Who it's for

Homeowners cooling a bedroom or home office, anyone in a south-facing flat or top-floor property struggling in summer, home-workers needing year-round climate control, and households wanting an efficient heating supplement to the boiler.

When you need it

Best installed in spring or autumn, installers are less busy and lead times are short. Booking in July when it's 32°C means you wait three weeks while you sweat.

Why professional matters

UK summers are getting warmer. A properly installed AC system pays for itself in productivity (if you work from home), sleep quality and resale value, and modern inverter units run for pennies per hour.

What Happens If You Leave It

The cost of doing nothing
is always higher than acting.

Cheap installs fail early

Poor brazing, leaky pipework, undersized cabling. Refrigerant leaks within months, compressor fails within two years.

Wrong size = wasted money

Undersized AC runs flat-out and never cools. Oversized AC short-cycles, wears out compressors, costs more to run.

Cable runs that look terrible

External pipework slapped on with cable clips ruins a property's appearance. Done properly, it should be barely visible.

Voided warranty from non-F-Gas installs

AC must be installed by an F-Gas certified engineer. Anyone else and your manufacturer warranty is void on day one.

Our Process

A clear, step-by-step system.

No surprises, no shortcuts, the same proven workflow on every job.

01

Survey & specification

We measure the room, calculate the cooling load (BTU), discuss indoor/outdoor unit placement and cable run aesthetics.

02

Fixed-price quote

Written quote covering supply, install, commissioning, F-Gas certification and manufacturer registration.

03

Installation day

Indoor unit mounted, outdoor condenser sited on wall bracket or ground stand, pipework run via the shortest tidy route.

04

Vacuum, charge, commission

System vacuumed to manufacturer spec, refrigerant charge verified, full cycle test (cool, heat, dehumidify, fan-only).

05

Demo & registration

Walk-through of remote, app pairing if smart, manufacturer warranty registered, F-Gas paperwork issued.

The Benefits

Why the right engineer
changes the outcome.

Quiet, efficient cooling

Modern inverter units run from 19dB, quieter than a fridge. Bedroom-friendly.

Year-round comfort

Cooling in summer, efficient heating in winter (modern AC is also a heat pump).

Cheap to run

Inverter AC running cost is typically 8–15p per hour for a bedroom unit, far cheaper than a fan heater for winter use.

Manufacturer warranty

Up to 7 years on Mitsubishi and Daikin installs we fit and register.

F-Gas certified

All refrigerant handling carried out under F-Gas regulations, with full certificate.

Clean installation

Pipework and cable runs planned for minimum visibility, your house, not a building site.

The Detail

What we'd tell a friend before they booked.

Air conditioning is a long-term install. The decisions made on day one, size, position, pipework route, indoor unit choice, determine how well it works for the next 15 years. We treat the survey as the most important part of the job.

01

Sizing, getting the BTU right

An air conditioner is rated by its cooling output in BTU (or kW). Under-spec it and the unit will run continuously and never reach temperature on hot days.

Over-spec it and it cools too quickly, short-cycles, and wears out the compressor while also failing to dehumidify properly. Correct sizing considers room volume, window size and orientation, insulation, occupancy, and any heat-generating equipment (computers, kitchens).

5kW), a 25m² lounge around 18,000 BTU (5kW). We calculate properly during the survey, no guessing.

02

Single split, multi-split, or ducted

Single split is the standard install: one indoor unit, one outdoor condenser, paired pipework. Best for cooling one or two specific rooms.

Multi-split runs multiple indoor units (up to 5) from a single outdoor condenser, better than one-each if you need cooling in multiple rooms but want only one external unit (aesthetics, planning). Ducted is a concealed indoor unit serving multiple rooms via ductwork in the ceiling, most expensive and most invasive, typically only specified during a renovation.

We'll quote whichever genuinely suits the property.

03

Brands and why we install what we install

Mitsubishi Electric (premium, very quiet, excellent reliability, 5–7 year warranty, our recommendation for bedrooms). Daikin (premium, excellent overall, especially for whole-home systems).

Panasonic (very strong mid-range, Etherea series particularly good aesthetically). LG (good value mid-range, smart features as standard).

We avoid budget brands, the saving up-front doesn't justify the call-outs over 10 years. F-Gas certified across all installs.

04

Planning, permissions and what to expect

AC installs in most freehold houses don't need planning permission, but conservation areas, listed buildings and flats may require permission or freeholder consent, we'll flag this at survey. External condenser units have noise limits in residential areas; we always position to minimise impact on neighbours.

Typical install runs 4–8 hours depending on pipework length and complexity. We dust-sheet, drill carefully, and clean up properly.

After commissioning, you get the F-Gas certificate, the manufacturer warranty registration, and a real walk-through of how to actually use the thing, most owners never use 80% of the features.

questions, answered.

Can't see your question? Call us on 0208 050 1788.

How much does air conditioning installation cost?+

A single-room split system (supply and install) typically sits between £1,800 and £2,800 depending on unit choice and pipework run. Multi-split systems quoted per unit.

How long does an AC install take?+

Most single-room installs are completed in one working day. Multi-splits or complex pipework runs take 1.5–2 days.

Do I need planning permission?+

Most freehold houses don't, but conservation areas, listed buildings and leasehold flats often do. We'll flag this at the survey stage.

Will it cool the whole house?+

A single split unit cools one room well. Whole-house cooling needs a multi-split, ducted system, or units in each room, we'll spec what genuinely suits your property and budget.

How much does it cost to run?+

A modern inverter unit cooling a bedroom typically uses 8–15p of electricity per hour. Far less than most people expect.

What's the warranty?+

Up to 7 years on Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin units we install and register. 5 years on Panasonic and LG as standard.

Can air conditioning also heat the room in winter?+

Yes, modern AC is essentially a reversible heat pump. Heating efficiency is typically 3–4x better than electric heaters.

Do you install in Essex and East London?+

Yes, Waltham Abbey, Chingford, Loughton, Cheshunt, Enfield, Harlow, Epping and the wider area.
