Service Overview

What it is.
Who it's for.
Why it matters.

What it is

All the smaller plumbing work that doesn't justify a full-day installer but does justify a proper qualified plumber, fitting new taps, replacing radiators, swapping out isolation valves, ball-cock and float valve repairs, basin and waste replacements.

Who it's for

Homeowners with a snag list, landlords prepping between tenants, recently moved-in households finding all the things the surveyor missed, anyone who'd rather pay once and get it done right than three times for a cheap fix.

When you need it

Whenever it's getting on your nerves. We typically bundle multiple small jobs into one visit, more efficient for us, cheaper per-job for you.

Why professional matters

A 'small' plumbing job done badly creates a much bigger one later. A poorly fitted tap leaks behind the basin pedestal for six months and the kitchen unit needs replacing. Worth doing right.

What Happens If You Leave It

The cost of doing nothing
is always higher than acting.

Leaks become rotten units

A slow leak from a poorly fitted tap or waste destroys kitchen and bathroom units long before you spot it.

Bad isolation = future drama

Isolation valves that don't work mean every future plumbing job starts with turning the whole house water off. Get them right.

Cheap fixes cost more

DIY-grade taps and valves fail in months. Trade-grade fittings cost slightly more and last decades.

Snag lists grow on their own

One dripping tap becomes three. Three becomes the kitchen flooded at 2am.

changes the outcome.

Most lists done same day

A typical 4–6 item snag list is usually completed in a single 3–4 hour visit.

Tidy, respectful work

Dust sheets down, area cleaned afterwards, your home left how you'd want it left.

The Detail

What we'd tell a friend before they booked.

We do small plumbing because somebody has to do it properly. Most local plumbers either chase only the big install work or take small jobs reluctantly and rush them. We treat small jobs as the same craft as a full bathroom, because the leak from a bad small job costs the same as the leak from a bad big one.

01

Typical small plumbing jobs we cover

Taps: kitchen and basin tap replacement, mixer taps, monobloc, bath taps and shower taps. Isolation valves: fitting where missing, replacing seized ones, accessible re-routing.

Radiators: replacement, repositioning, fitting thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs), bleeding and balancing the system afterwards. Ball-cocks and float valves: cold water tank, toilet cistern, F&E tank, old brass valves are happily replaced with modern silent-fill valves at the same price.

Basins and pedestals: full replacement with new traps and wastes. Bath waste and overflow assemblies.

Outside taps with double-check valves to current standards. Washing machine and dishwasher connections.

Pressure-reducing valves where mains pressure is too high (a common cause of taps and toilets dripping).

02

Materials we use and why

Trade-grade ceramic-disc taps from manufacturers like Bristan, Grohe and Hansgrohe, last decades, no rubber washers to perish. WRAS-approved isolation valves with full-bore handles, not the £2 plastic ones that seize in a year.

Compression fittings on copper for serviceability where push-fits would make future work harder; push-fits (Speedfit / Hep2O) on plastic pipework where copper isn't needed. Always braided flexible tap connectors with the stainless braid, never the cheaper PEX-only versions.

The right material for the right job, every time.

03

Radiator work, more than just hanging it on the wall

Replacing a radiator properly involves: isolating the radiator at the valves; draining just that radiator (not the whole system); removing carefully without dripping inhibitor onto carpet; checking the wall bracket positions for the new unit (radiator sizes vary); fitting the new radiator with proper sealant and tightening to torque (not crank-tight); rebalancing the system afterwards so the new radiator heats correctly relative to the others; bleeding air out at every radiator and verifying system pressure. A two-hour job done in 30 minutes is the kind that leaks a year later.

We do it properly.

04

When small plumbing turns into bigger work

Sometimes we get into a small job and find a bigger one, a corroded compression fitting that needs the whole run replacing, a tap that won't isolate because the stopcock under the sink has seized, a basin pedestal hiding rotten timber. We'll always stop, explain the situation, and quote any additional work BEFORE proceeding.

You always have the choice to defer it, get a second opinion, or proceed, no hard-sell, no surprise bills.
